Abstract

This study is inspired by the significant role of the tourism industry in romoting economic development and the growing impact of public sentiment on the choices made by tourists, particularly regarding the Toerwagen site in Surabaya's Old Town. The aim of this research is to evaluate how public opinion affects the decisions of tourists. A quantitative method with a causal associative design was employed, involving 100 participants chosen through a simple random sampling method. Information was gathered via a Likert scale survey and analyzed using simple linear regression techniques with SPSS software. The findings indicated that all elements were confirmed as valid, showing correlation values ranging from 0.838 to 0.930 for variable X and 0. 844 to 0.967 for variable Y, as well as demonstrating reliability with Cronbach's Alpha scores of 0. 939 for X and 0.954 for Y. The hypothesis testing produced a t value of 58. 524 along with a significance level of 0.000.
