Abstract

Community Based Tourism (CBT) is a new concept in empowering local communities as the main actors in tourism management with the aim of empowering communities in the economic sector. Banjaran Tourism Village as an educational, historical, dan culture tourism village is one of the villages that has extraordinary natural potential because of its strategic location and close to the Selarong Cave tourist attraction, making Banjaran Tourism Village known as a complementary tourist attraction to Selarong Cave which was developed by BUMDes Guwosari, Bantul Regency. This research specifically discusses the development of management of the Banjaran Tourism Village using the CBT concept. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques of observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. This research aims to identify and analyze the development of tourist villages using the CBT concept in the Banjaran Tourism Village. The results of this research indicate that the development of a tourist village using the CBT concept in the Banjaran Tourism Villages can be carried out well due to several factors including support from the role of the government, participation from a unified local community, fair sharing of results, and cooperation with various related parties. Although in this case the competency of human resources as the main subject in tourism management still needs to be improved for sustainable development of tourist villages.
